Meet the Team

Kveta Giertl has been working with GreenWood Investors since 2015 and joined the team as an Operating Officer in 2018. Prior to joining GreenWood, Kveta was Controller at Carr Securities from 2011-2015. Prior to that, she owned a small accounting and tax preparation practice. Kveta began her career at Prime Financial Group (currently Vanderbilt Financial Group), and later worked with the Tax and Business Advisory Group at Arthur Andersen. She received a Masters in Taxation form the School of Professional Accountancy in 2003 and a Bachelor’s in Accounting, Magna Cum Laude, in 2001, both from Long Island University.

Chris Torino joined GreenWood Investors in 2018 to help expand the research and diligence capabilities of the firm. Previously, Chris was Vice President at Lazard Asset Management with the International Equity Value team. The genesis of this strategy was LRV Capital, a fundamental International-only long/short equity fund, which Lazard acquired in 2018. Chris joined LRV Capital, pre-launch in 2012, as the only Analyst, to help identify and exploit company-specific inflection points in under-followed non-U.S. mid-cap equities. Chris began his investment career at Morgan Creek Capital. He received a Masters in Accountancy from the Wake Forest Schools of Business in 2009, and a Bachelor’s in Analytical Finance from Wake Forest University in 2008.

Steven Wood, CFA, founded GreenWood Investors in 2010 based on core beliefs that great investment returns require a concentrated group of only the most opportunistic securities and must look beyond short-term results. Steven leads the GreenWood team, which conducts thorough research on our global opportunity set, prioritized by our ranking framework. Wood deepened his knowledge of distressed, deep value, and special situations strategies as the research analyst at Carr Securities from 2009-2013. He began his career with the special situations team at Kellogg Capital Group, and later worked as an investment banking analyst for RBC Capital Markets in the Syndicated and Leveraged Finance group. He received a triple degree, Cum Laude, from Tulane University in Economics, Political Economy and International Relations in 2005.
